Danske Bank was founded in 1871 and is Denmark’s largest bank, with headquarters in Copenhagen and activities in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Northern Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Danske Bank is engaged in providing payment services, trading in securities and other instruments, depositing of surplus liquidity and the provision of short- and long-term financing. It operates four commercial business units Personal & Business Customers, Large Corporates & Institutions, Danica Pension, and Northern Ireland.

The Personal & Business Customers segment provides advisory services to personal customers, Private Banking customers and small and medium-sized businesses in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Its Large Corporates & Institutions segment is engaged with providing strategic advice, financial solutions and products to large Nordic and institutional customers. Danica Pension provides pension services within Denmark, and in its Northern Ireland segment, Danske Bank serves personal business and corporate customers in Northern Ireland with some activities in targeted sectors across the rest of the United Kingdom.

In 2021 Danske Bank’s market share in Denmark was 25% in lending and 29% in deposits.

Green Hydrogen Systems is an electrolyser Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and clean tech company founded in 2007. Green Hydrogen Systems develops and manufactures electrolysis solutions to produce green hydrogen. The company’s production is in Kolding, Denmark.

The company was listed at Nasdaq Copenhagen in June 2021, raising DKK 1.1 billion in gross proceeds to significant scale-up the electrolysis capacity. Green Hydrogen Systems aspires to reach more than 200 MW in 2025 corresponding to a revenue of more than DKK 1,000 million with a gross profit margin of approx. 25% in 2025.

Markets gained today amid European CPI, and US jobs data.

The US non-farm payrolls data was the major influence today, as markets assessed the stronger-than-expected jobs data to be both good for the economy and inflation. The US economy added 223,000 jobs in December, beating expectations, while wages rose 0.3%, less than expected and less than the previous month. The market&rsquo;s takeaway was the economy was more robust than expected, but the risk of a wage-price spiral is greatly reduced, and the Fed may need to hike interest rates less.

The Eurozone also received a boost from a lower CPI reading, with year-on-year CPI increasing 9.2% in December, down from 10.1% in November. Eurozone core inflation rose to 5.2% from 5.0% in November, which will likely need to roll over before the EU consider loosening monetary policy; however, overall, it suggested inflation has peaked in the Eurozone, lifting sentiment.

European stocks have outperformed so far in 2022, with the FTSE 100 reaching its highest level since 2018. The outperformance can be somewhat explained by the search for value, with markets looking less favourably on the US&rsquo;s tech-heavy market while interest rates remain high.
