Gothenburg, Sweden, March 28, 2023-Irisity AB (http://www.irisity.com/)(publ), the leader in state-of-the-art video analytics, has announced the launch of IrisityEdgefor Axis. The offering combines best-in-class video analytics with market-leading surveillance cameras to provide customers with a comprehensive and intelligent video security solution.
The solution runs Irisity's AI algorithms for perimeter security embedded in the Axis camera without requiring extra hardware. Irisity Edge for Axis combines Irisity's industry-leading video analytics, based on deep learning AI models and machine learning, and Axis Camera Applications Platform (ACAP) video devices into a single solution.
"Irisity, then Agent Vi, was the first company supplying third-party analytics for the Axis Camera Application Platform back in 2006", said Zvika Ashani, CTO, Irisity. "Now we're taking it to the next level with state-of-the-art deep learning-based AI algorithms."
Both small and large installations benefit greatly from the platform. Small sites will now only require the camera on-site, meaning no extra hardware is needed and the cost is kept to a minimum. Large sites will benefit from a greatly simplified network and server infrastructure. Since the video analytics computations are distributed across hundreds of cameras, bandwidth requirements are kept to a minimum and expensive analytics servers may not be needed.
The solution is fully compatible with Irisity's hosted cloud solutions, allowing customers to mix and match camera-embedded analytics with server or cloud-based solutions to upgrade existing cameras. It also features a true IoT architecture, meaning that the AI processing is distributed across thousands of cameras while everything is still configured in one convenient place.
"It's fantastic to see Irisity utilizing the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP) to bring their solution to the edge," Jamie Donald, Program Director Technology Partners, Axis Communications. "We know there is a strong customer demand for this solution based on the efficiency of the architecture and associated cost savings. It will be very exciting to see the solution hit the market."
The analytics offering also supports flexible integrations to the Axis ecosystem and third-party systems such as Milestone, Genetec, and IMMIX.
"Axis is renowned for its high-quality cameras with excellent low-light performance, making it an ideal partner for intrusion detection and perimeter security applications," said Niclas Karlsson, Business Analyst, Irisity. "This platform represents a major step forward in intelligent video surveillance technology, providing customers with a flexible and scalable solution that is easy to configure and manage while reducing hardware costs."
