The long-duration energy storage system that Azelio has developed for electricity production on demand also features heat production. This is commonly known as Combined Heat and Power, or CHP. The residual heat from the system, when the TES.POD is in operation for electricity generation, can be available as usable heat.

On the occasion of the launch of the COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, Egyptian Engazaat S.A.E, Swedish Azelio AB, and French Mascara NT announce the forming an alliance to provide innovative utility solutions addressing the challenges of the Water-Energy-Food nexus. The alliance, SAVE Cleantech Utilities, will offer “Water-and-Energy-as-A-Service-Model” for the first time in the industry enabling farmers in off-grid desert locations to focus their resources on the farming activities.

In October 2022, Azelio AB (publ) (“Azelio” or the “Company”) carried out a rights issue of units (the “Rights Issue”). The first day of trading in warrants of series TO33 (the "Warrants") issued as part of the Rights Issue on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market is today, 2 November 2022. The last day of trading in the Warrants is February 24, 2023. The Warrants will be traded under the short name (ticker) AZELIO TO33.

Through the Rights Issue, 28,969,295 Warrants have been issued.

Azelio announced on August 19, 2021, a conditional order for 20 energy storage units from Engazaat Development S.A.E (Engazaat) in Egypt. Important steps now have been taken towards the fulfilment of the conditions tied to the order.

The intention is to establish a joint project company to finance and carry out the installation and operation of the project. A techno-economic feasibility study for the specific project has been performed with satisfactory results.

The first commercial project in Sweden with Azelio's energy storage solution has been commissioned at Industrisupport i Åmål AB, Sweden. The order was announced on March 29, 2021 and includes two TES.POD units that are charged from solar panels, and move excess energy to match the demand and create renewable baseload power. The system will also provide Industrisupport i Åmål AB with heat that also reduces dependence on the district heating network.
