The space-efficient building will be approximately 8,500 square meters in size spread across two stories. The building will be used for school activities, a library, service for young people and for adult education. Approximately 650 pupils between pre-school class and grade 9 will use the premises, which have been designed to provide a good and healthy learning environment and to strengthen municipal operations.
The new multi-purpose building will be constructed near the school, which is a cultural monument from 1900. The buildings will be joined together via a passage.
"NCC has constructed many school buildings and in cooperation with our client we will now create premises for several different activities, where we are bringing together old and new. It will be an impressive building that we are looking forward to constructing," says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.
Construction will begin immediately and is expected to be completed at the beginning of summer 2025.
The order value of about SEK 260 million will be registered during the fourth quarter of 2023 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.
