The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA) today has informed that Swedbank receives a remark and an administrative fine of MSEK 850. The decision regards the IT incident in April 2022 where customers were displayed incorrect account statements.

Swedbank regrets and has apologized to customers for the problems that the IT incident caused. The bank has taken forceful measures to prevent this type of incident from happening again.

Swedbank can now assess the financial impact from the investigation by the U.S. Treasury's Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regarding the bank's historical shortcomings. OFAC's investigation relates to the transactions that the bank has notified the authority about. Swedbank therefore makes a provision of 40 million SEK.

"We can now assess the financial impact. The dialogue with OFAC is good. But we cannot say when it will be concluded," says Tomas Hedberg, Head of Special Task Force and Deputy CEO of Swedbank.

Swedbank has published its first Sustainable Bond Impact Report, the next step in the development of the Green Bond Impact Report. The report comprises impact reporting of both green and social assets registered in the Sustainable Asset Register. At year-end 2022, the register held SEK 59.3 billion in assets, an increase of 33 per cent compared to the preceding year.

In a new report, the organization ShareAction has examined the sustainability work of 77 international asset managers based on how they work with governance, stewardship, climate, biodiversity and social issues. Swedbank Robur ranks 8th in the world and 1st in the Nordic region.

Swedbank reported a strong result for 2022 with increased value for owners, customers and employees. The year's profit amounted to SEK 21.9 billion, corresponding to a 13.3 per cent return on equity. Swedbank's climate position was strengthened with new climate targets that clarify how the bank aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

The shareholders in Swedbank AB (publ) are hereby given notice to the Annual General Meeting that will be held at Oscarsteatern, Kungsgatan 63, Stockholm, at 11:00 am (CET) on Thursday 30 March 2023.

Shareholders are welcome for registration from 09:30 am (CET). Lighter refreshments will be offered before the Annual General Meeting.

As a service to non-Swedish speaking shareholders, the Annual General Meeting will be simultaneously interpreted to English.

Swedbank issues Additional Tier 1 Capital (AT1) to optimise its capital structure. The USD 500 million issuance has a coupon of 7.625 per cent and an issue price of 100 per cent.

The loan is perpetual with a call option after 5.5 years. The issuance is in the form of debt instruments with mandatory conversion into ordinary shares if the regulatory capital of the bank decreases to a certain level.
