CAMBI: Cambi wins a new thermal hydrolysis contract in Norway

Cambi
Asker, Norway, 30 May 2022

Cambi has been awarded a contract by Nedre Romerike Avløpsselskap (NRA) to
deliver a state-of-the-art thermal hydrolysis plant at the Krogstad Miljøpark in
the municipality of Lillestrøm, Oslo metropolitan area.

The estimated contract value is more than NOK 80 million. "It is a pleasure for
Cambi to deliver a new thermal hydrolysis plant close to home. This milestone
project uses our latest design for higher energy efficiency and maximum value
creation. We look forward to working with NRA towards realising one of Norway's
most modern sludge treatment centres", said Eirik Fadnes, Cambi CEO.

By building a new sludge treatment centre with thermal hydrolysis before
anaerobic digestion, NRA aims to reduce its carbon footprint and improve
operational synergies. The biogas will be used for hydrogen production.

Thomes Trømborg, CEO of Nedre Romerike Avløpsselskap, remarked: "Thermal
hydrolysis is an essential part of the new sludge treatment centre, maximising
biogas production and producing a high-quality biosolids product. The biogas
value chain is an essential part of the circular economy, reducing waste
problems and improving the society's use of resources. The project creates local
value and green jobs. NRA looks forward to collaborating with Cambi at
Krogstad".

NRA is an inter-municipal company of Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Rælingen and
Nittedal, providing wastewater treatment services to 170,000 people. NRA is
building a modern sludge treatment centre to serve up to 370,000 people from the
rapidly growing regions of Nedre Romerike and Glåmdal, north of Oslo.

Cambi's project consists of the thermal hydrolysis plant, boiler, heat
exchanger, and integration services. The sludge treatment centre is expected to
start operations in 2025.

Following standard public procurement procedures, the contract is expected to be
signed after a notice period expiring on 9 June (Norwegian 'karenstid').
