Korona aikaan tuotteet vietiin lähes käsistä, nyt hinnat nousseet jäätävästi ja esim. halvemman segmentin telineet ja boksit poistuneet valikoimasta. Thule voi olla paha kärsijä taantuman nostaessa päätään.

Alkaa olemaan arvostus houkutteleva. Toisaalta niin on monessa muussakin yhtiössä. Pyörien ja suksien kuljetuksessa ainoa relevantti vaihtoehto. Vähänkään enemmän pyörää kuljettavat eivät muita vaihtoehtoja edes mieti.

Trading update on the impact of the current market situation within the bike retail sector                             Thulelta negari. Kurssi treidaa ennen korona tasoa. Samankailtainen tilanne kuin muillakin koronahyötyjillä. Sijoittajan on vaikea arvioida tulevaisuuden tulostasoa. Onko ketään alan asiantuntijaa, tai pyöräilyn harrastajaa foorumilla?

Mielenkiintoinen avaus. Tuotteet ja brändi on hyvät omastakin kokemuksesta, liiketoiminta vakaata, ennustettavaa ja kannattavaa. Oman pääoman tuotto ollut useamman vuoden luokkaa 20%, vapaa kassavirta kasvanut samaa tahtia tuloksen kanssa ja muutenkin pikaisella silmäyksellä vaikuttaa oikein laatuyhtiöltä. Harmi vain, että hinta on vuoden aikana karannut omaan makuuni turhan korkeaksi poikkeuksellisen hyvän kasvuvuoden myötä. Historiassa liikevaihto kasvanut ~8% vuositahtia, ja vastaavan liikevaihto-/tuloskasvun voisi kuvitella jatkuvan tulevaisuudessakin, kun yhtiö itsekin tavoittelee vain >5% vuosikasvua. Osinkotuotto ~2%. Jos olettaa vuosikasvun jatkuvan 8% ja arvostuksen pysyvän samana, olisi sijoittajan vuosituotto 10% PE viime vuoden tuloksella 34,5. Jos 2021 kasvaa 8%, niin PE 2021 32,0. EIkö näihin ole jo ladattu vähän kovemmat kasvuodotukset, vai olenko ihan pihalla järkevästä arvostuksesta? Samaan aikaan Helsingistä saa melkein PE 20 hinnalla vastaavaa oman pääoman tuottoa tekevää Kamuxia, jonka tarkoitus on kasvaa 20% vuodessa.

Hyvä paketti! Itsekkin tutkinut Thulea pidempään holdiin. Thulella pätevä johto ja luvut kohdillaan. Onkohan suunnitelmissa laajentaa muillekkin mantereille?

Tule Group AB on Ruotsalainen yhtiö, joka valmistaa ulkonaliikkumisvälineitä ja siihen liittyviä ratkaisuja. Esimerkkejä Thulen tuotteista ovat mm. kattotelineet autoihin. Kattotelineisiin kuuluu esim. suksiboksit ja pyörätelineet.  Historiaa: Thule Groupin on perustanut Thulin-perhe vuonna 1942. Liikeidea lähti liikkeelle Erik Thulinin perustamasta kalastusvälineestä, jonka hän nimesi Thuleksi. Thulin rupesi myymään tätä tuotetta kalastajille Scandinaviassa ja täten bisnes potkaistiin käyntiin. Thule siirtyi myymään autoihin liittyviä varusteita vasta 1960-luvulla, mistä on syntynyt Thulen liiketoiminnan pääajuri. Thule listautui pörssiin vuonna 2014.  Talouslukuja: Tässä muutama hyvä dia Thulen Q4/2020 raportista:   Thulen liiketoiminta koostuu lähinnä neljästä osasta:   Eli siis urheilu ja tavarakuljetus, RV-tuotteet (recreational vehicle), lasten rattaat esim. pyörissä ja viimeisenä erilaiset matkalaukut, reput yms. Kuten kuvasta näkee, koronalla on ollut oma kosketuksensa Thulen liiketoimintaan. Matkalaukku-segmentti on ottanut osumaa, kun matkustusta on rajoitettu paljon. RV-segmentistä löytyi seuraava kommentti:   RV on suoriutunut mainiosti Amerikassa, jossa kasvu on vastannut 73%.  “Active with kids”-segmentti oli myös suoriutunut hyvin 37% kasvulla. Viimeisenä “Sports and Cargo carriers” eli telineet mm. pyöriin olivat tuottaneet hyvää tulosta pyöräilytrendin siivittämänä.   Koronan vaikutuksista mainittiin Thulen presentaatiossa:    Thulen omat taloudelliset tavoitteet:    5 suurinta omistajaa:   Analyytikkoseuranta: Analyytikkoseurantaa löytyy Thuleen ainakin seuraavista pankeista: SEB, Nordea, Handelsbanken, Danske Bank ja Pareto Securities.  Oma näkemys: Thule vaikuttaa turvalliselta pidemmän aikavälin sijoituskohteelta, jos ulkoilutrendit jatkuvat yleistymistään. Amerikassa kasvu on ollut Thulella hyvää, joka voi osoittautua mainioksi kasvuajuriksi. Amerikassa terveydelliseen elämäntapaan liittyvät trendit ovat yleistyneet lähiaikoin. (vrt.
