Kysyin Elon Muskin tekoälyltä mielipidettä, onko Roche & Herantis Pharman kumppanuus potentiaalinen ja elinkelpoinen. Vastaus: Ensimmäinen pysäyttämään (tai parantamaan) Parkinsonin taudin? Ei aivan – mutta mullistavia asioita on tekeillä Parkinsonin tauti on julma – ei parannuskeinoa, vain oireiden hallintaa. Taudin etenemisen “pysäyttäminen” on taudin muuntajien pyhä graali, ja molemmat ohjelmat hehkuttavat tätä potentiaalia, mutta kumpikaan ei ole vielä siinä pisteessä: • HER-096: Juuri Phase 1b -vaiheen menestyksen jälkeen (turvallinen, aivoihin tunkeutuva, vakaat oireet), sekä puhdas 6 kuukauden toksisuustutkimus marraskuussa 2025. Se on asemoitu potentiaaliseksi “ensimmäiseksi luokassaan” pysäyttämään etenemisen puuttumalla perussyihin, ja täydelliset biomarkkerit ovat odotettavissa vuoden 2025 loppuun mennessä. Vaiheen 2 tehokkuustulokset? Ei ennen vuotta 2027. MJFF:n ja Parkinson’s UK:n tukema, se on lupaava mutta varhaisessa vaiheessa. • Rochen Prasinezumabi: Pidemmällä vaiheessa III (alkaa loppuvuodesta 2025/alkuvuodesta 2026), ja tiedot osoittavat motorisen toiminnan hidastumista osajoukoissa. Jos se onnistuu, se voisi olla ensimmäinen hyväksytty Parkinsonin taudin etenemistä hidastava modifioija – ei parannuskeino, mutta valtava harppaus. Roche panostaa siihen voimakkaasti kutsuen sitä “vallankumoukseksi” neurodegeneraatiossa. Kumpikaan ei ole parannuskeino (vahingon täydellinen korjaaminen? Vuosikymmenten päässä, jos koskaan). Mutta prasinezumab saattaa saada “ensimmäisenä hidastavana” keinoja aiemmin, kun taas HER-096 voisi erottua korjausmekanismillaan. Jos he tekisivät yhteistyötä, se olisi voimakas yhdistelmä – synergistisiä mekanismeja, jaettuja kokeita?
