Kebni hosts KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) for drone tech collaboration

KebNi

Last week, Kebni welcomed Professor Hyochoong Bang from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to its inertial sensing production facility in Karlskoga, Sweden. Professor Bang, a global authority in drone and aeronautical navigation, visited Kebni as part of an ongoing collaboration focused on advancing drone navigation technologies.

KAIST is currently using Kebni’s multi-sensor platform, Kebni SensAItion, in drone lab projects. During the visit, Professor Bang and Kebni’s team explored potential areas for deeper technical cooperation, including fixed-wing and rotary drone navigation, AI piloting, and applications in space systems.

“I believe there will be a great combination between our technology and the partnership with Kebni. The impression I got from the Kebni SensAItion IMU was very strong. We have high expectations for the outcome of the testing with the Kebni IMU,” says Professor Bang. “The small drone market is growing rapidly in Korea, and we see great possibilities ahead.”

Professor Bang also toured Kebni’s IMU calibration facility and received a demo of Kebni INSight, a new tool for supporting integration and testing of the SensAItion platform.

“We were honored to host Professor Bang,” said Torbjörn Saxmo, CEO of Kebni. “His visit reflects the trust between KAIST and Kebni, and the promising opportunities in combining our sensor innovation with cutting-edge research in UAV navigation.”

The visit underlines the strategic value of Kebni’s partnership with KAIST, and highlights growing international interest in Kebni’s inertial sensing technology for drone applications.
