Prevas Develops Advanced Self-calibration Solution for Bluetest

Prevas is developing an advanced product option for Bluetest's wireless communication test systems. The solution enables self-calibration of reverberation chambers while further strengthening Prevas' position within radio technology and advanced measurement engineering.

Bluetest is a Swedish technology company that develops test solutions for wireless communication, serving customers in sectors such as telecom, automotive, defense, medical technology, and IoT. Their reverberation chambers are used globally to verify the performance and quality of connected products quickly, accurately, and with high repeatability. Reverberation chambers are specially designed test environments used to measure wireless communication and electromagnetic performance. Their reflective walls create a realistic multi-path test setting where radio waves behave as they would in real-world environments.

"We chose Prevas as our development partner thanks to their broad technical expertise and specialist knowledge in radio measurement technology," says Anton Andrén from Bluetest. "Together, we can continue to improve our solutions and create even greater value for our customers."

The new product option automates and simplifies the calibration process, reducing the time required, and minimizing the risk of operator error. Achieving this requires deep expertise across radio measurement, signal analysis, and hardware design, including RF boards engineered for frequencies up to 18 GHz with demanding requirements for signal path repeatability. Advanced techniques such as de-embedding of system components are being employed to further reduce measurement uncertainty.

"This is an exciting assignment where we combine our experience in product development with our specialized expertise in radio technology. We look forward to advancing Bluetest's calibration capabilities," says Peder Malmlöf, Senior Specialist in radio measurement technology at Prevas.

"We have built a strong relationship with Bluetest over time and are proud to once again contribute to their product development with our senior expertise in an area that requires both technical knowledge and innovation," says Magnus Benedicto, Business Unit Manager at Prevas. "The result will be a faster, more accessible calibration experience for Bluetest's global customer base, and a further step in a partnership built on shared technical ambition."
