Unika opens specialized LSS unit for people with Prader-Willi syndrome in Mölndal
Today, a new LSS unit in Mölndal has been inaugurated by Unika. The residence is the fifth in Sweden (of which four are operated by Unika) with a focus on individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome, a target group with a need for a high degree of specialised support and adapted working methods. Attendo operates its LSS services under the Unika brand, which was launched in September 2024.
Unika has, over several years, built up specific expertise in Prader-Willi syndrome and developed services adapted to the needs of the target group. The establishment in Mölndal is part of Unika’s long-term work to meet increased demand for individualised care of high quality.
“We see a great need for specialised care with the right competence for individuals with complex needs. Our strength lies in developing specialised care where knowledge, structure and the individual’s needs are at the centre,” says Emelie Mossberg, Segment Manager at Unika.
Demand for specialised care is increasing, as is the need for the right competence within different areas of disability care. As each individual municipality in Sweden cannot have the specialist expertise required to meet all types of care throughout all stages of life, Unika can be the reliable partner and provider that municipalities can turn to.
