VEF welcomes new board members, Will Pruett and Torun Litzén

VEF AB (publ) (VEF) welcomes Will Pruett and Torun Litzén to the Board of Directors following approval by the AGM on May 6. At the same time, long-serving board member, and co-founder of VEF, Per Brilioth, has decided to step down after more than a decade of service.

Will and Torun should strengthen VEF's Board with their deep expertise in capital markets, investor relations and emerging market fintech investing — areas central to VEF's strategy as a listed investor in fintech across growth markets. Will offers a rare combination of dedicated emerging markets portfolio management at one of the world's leading asset managers and hands-on board experience at listed fintech companies operating in VEF's core geographies while Torun brings nearly two decades of experience guiding one of Sweden's most prominent listed investment companies through the lens of public market investors.

Will Pruett

Will Pruett spent the majority of his career at Fidelity Investments, where most recently he served as portfolio manager for their Latin America Fund and Emerging Markets Financials funds. Prior, he worked at HSBC in retail credit and e-commerce roles across Asia, Europe and Latin America. He currently serves on the boards of two listed Emerging Market fintech companies, PicPay and dLocal, providing deep insight into the world VEF invests into.

Torun Litzén

Torun Litzén brings nearly 25 years of experience from Nordic and global capital markets. She spent the past 18 years as Investor Relations Director at Swedish listed investment company Kinnevik. Prior, she held roles in investor relations at Nordea Bank and fund manager at HQ Fonder, where she was part of a team managing two global and European equities funds and an Emerging Markets fund.

Thank you Per Brilioth

VEF extends its sincerest thanks to Per Brilioth, who is stepping down after serving on the VEF board since inception. Per was instrumental to the creation of VEF and has been a constant source of insight, conviction and support over the past decade. He has played an important role in shaping VEF into the emerging market fintech investor it is today. The Board and management team are deeply grateful for his contribution over the years, and he remains a close friend of the firm.
