Ventcroft becomes NKT

NKTLehdistötiedote13.10.2026 klo 09.00

NKT is rebranding UK-based Ventcroft Ltd as NKT, marking the next step in the company's integration into NKT following its acquisition in 2022. The change brings the Runcorn site fully under the NKT brand, combining Ventcroft's expertise in fire-resistant power cable technology with NKT's broader product portfolio, strong UK presence, and European market reach.

NKT acquired Ventcroft in January 2022 as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in the European power cable market and expand its portfolio of low-voltage power cable solutions. Ventcroft brought established expertise in fire-resistant building wires and low-voltage power cables, complementing NKT's existing portfolio. Since the acquisition, Ventcroft has become an integrated part of NKT, creating opportunities to combine its specialised technology and expertise with NKT's broader capabilities, customer relationships and reach across European markets.

The transition to the NKT brand marks the next step in this journey and reflects NKT's ambition to operate as one company across its European footprint. Bringing the Runcorn site under the NKT brand will support a more unified approach towards customers and strengthen collaboration across sales, operations, logistics, testing and production.

"When we acquired Ventcroft in 2022, we saw a strong opportunity to combine its expertise in fire-resistant power cable technology with NKT's broader portfolio and European presence. Over the past four years, our colleagues in Runcorn have become an important part of NKT, and bringing the site fully under the NKT brand is a natural next step. We are pleased to welcome them fully into NKT as we continue building one company with a strong position across Europe and beyond," says Carlos Fernandez, Executive Vice President and Head of Distribution at NKT.

Strengthening NKT's presence in the UK
Fire-resistant power cables play an important role in buildings and infrastructure where maintaining electrical supply during a fire can be critical to safety. When acquiring Ventcroft, NKT highlighted the growing focus on fire-resistant power cables within the construction industry and the opportunity to bring Ventcroft's technology to a broader European market.

Today, the Runcorn site continues to strengthen NKT's offering within fire-resistant and low-voltage power cable solutions and forms an important part of NKT's growing presence in the UK. Beyond Runcorn, NKT has a broader presence in the UK across its business lines, with three additional offices and a total of 165 employees supporting customers and projects across the country.

The rebranding also reflects NKT's long-term commitment to the UK market and the continued development of the Runcorn operation. Customers will continue to benefit from the expertise, products and relationships developed by Ventcroft, now supported by one NKT brand and the capabilities and footprint of the wider NKT organisation.
