Xplora Technologies AS is a Norwegian based company that develops and sells smartwatches designed to safely onboard children to the digital world. Xplora Technologies was listed on the Euronext Growth Oslo market in Nov 2020. Xplora Technologies gives parents the confidence to allow their children to play freely outside by providing connectivity and additional safety solutions whilst simultaneously incentivising physical activity and engagement with ESG initiatives through its digital Goplay platform. Together with producing and selling hardware Xplora Technologies generates recurring revenues from value-adding services and connectivity referred to as the Xplora Service Platform. Xplora also extends third-party licenses of the service platform to other smart devices producers, further extending upselling capabilities.

Tämä vaihtelee alueittain. Jollain alueilla myös kellopuhelimet on oltava repuissa. Tämä nyt toisaalta vähän Suomi-ilmiö. Saksankielisessä keskieuroopassa lastenpuhelinsaatio on huomattavan vähäinen. Saksassa ja Sveitsissä osa lapsista kokee, ettei puhelimella tee mitään. Sveitsiläisen ystäväni lapsi sai 13-vuotiaana puhelimen ja toi sen kolmantena päivänä pois ja halusi palauttaa. Väittävät, että Germaani-tiktok on ainakin lapsiprofiileille vissiin hyvin nopeasti äärioikeistomatskua täynnä.

Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitoksen uudet digisuositukset eivät suosittele älypuhelinta alle 13-vuotiaille, korkeintaan puhelimia, joilla rajoitetut ominaisuudet. Tämä saattaisi sataa Xploran kassaan ainakin jossain määrin. Muiden pohjoismaiden suosituksista ei ole tietoa. Oma jälkikasvu on ykkösluokalla ja älypuhelimia ei saa koulussa olla mukana, en tiedä miten tätä valvotaan vai saako se kuitenki olla repussa? Mutta puhelikello saa ranteessa olla.

Q3 tulos  ulkona. Neljänneksen liikevaihto ensimmäistä kertaa yli puoli miljardia (NOK). Ja toimitusjohtajan  mukaan “seniori- ja nuorisomarkkina on vasta alkuvaiheessa.”  Xplora Q3 25 Surpassed half a billion in quarterly revenue, with record-high EBITDA Xplora Technologies Oslo, 26 November 2025 – Xplora Technologies AS (“Xplora”) today published its results for the third quarter 2025. Revenue in Q3 2025 more than doubled to NOK 510m, exceeding half a billion for the first time in a single quarter. EBITDA came in at NOK 72m in the quarter. “We report a solid year-on-year increase of 36% in our subscription base reaching a total subscription base of 443k. This yielded a 19% increase in service revenue to NOK 90m, corresponding to an ARR of NOK 358m” says CEO Sten Kirkbak. “With the Senior and Youth markets still in the early stages, the subscription opportunities are significant”, Kirkbak adds. Gross margin increased to 52% in the quarter, supported by the introduction of new product series with lower cost of goods sold and channel optimization, generating a 122% year-on-year increase in gross profit to NOK 263m. EBITDA increased by 133% to NOK 72m, corresponding with an EBITDA-margin of 14%. Year-to-date (YTD) 2025, group revenues reached NOK 1.3b, up 135% from the same period last year. Gross profit YTD was NOK 685m, a year-on-year increase of 146%, whereas EBITDA increased by 169% to NOK 140m. “With our strong performance in Q3 and year-to-date, we have established a solid foundation for continued growth and expansion. At today’s Capital Markets Day, we will demonstrate how we intend to leverage these opportunities as we progress toward—and beyond—one million subscriptions,” says Kirkbak. Building on this momentum, the roadmap and growth opportunities we will present at today’s CMD, and to support our long-term capital markets strategy, the board of directors of Xplora has decided to initiate a process for analysing alternatives for an uplisting from Euronext Growth to Oslo Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Stockholm or another regulated marketplace. The ambitions are that the process is completed within 12 months, subject to prevailing market conditions and regulatory approvals.

Toivottavasti HMD Fusion X1:stä Xplora sovelluksella julkaistaisiin vertailu esimerkiksi tavalliseen Fusioniin Googlen Family Linkillä. Fusion X1:ä Xploran huoltajasovelluksella on markkinoitu sillä, että siinä ei ole esiasennettuja ohjelmia, vaan kaikkien käyttöönottoa voi valvoa huoltajasovelluksen kautta. Myös yhteyshenkilöitä (puhelut ja Sms) hallitaan huoltajasovelluksella. En henkilökohtaisesti oikein tunne Family linkiä, mutta olen ymmärtänyt, että lapset oppivat kiertämään sitä. Xploran bisneksen kannalta riski tässä HMD -rönsyssä on vähäinen. Pääfokus on kellopuhelimien jatkuvassa tulovirrassa ja Doron senioripuhelimien Xplora-liittymistä tulevassa jatkuvassa tulovirrassa. Ostin juuri tyttärelleni Xplora X6 Playn, josta on jo hänen sisaruksillaan hyvää kokemusta. Olin henkilökohtaisen talouteni kannalta pettynyt ja sijoittajana hyrisin tyytyväisyyttäni kun en onnistunut kiertämään Xploran palvelumaksuja 5 euron Telian prepaid-kortilla. Sillä liittymällä kellon lisääminen olisi vaatinut 9e kuukausimaksun maksamista Xploralle. Päädyin lopulta kaatamaan rahani Xploran laariin ja otin heidän oman liittymän 9e/kk 12kk etumaksulla.

Tuo HMD:n kanssa tehty puhelin on kyllä mielenkiintoinen, koska se mahdollistaa hyvin yksityiskohtaisen lapsen puhelimen sisällön muokkaamisen. Meillä lapsi 8-vuotias ja pärjännyt kaksi ekaa luokkaa kellopuhelimella. Nyt kaikilla kavereilla on kännykät, joten lapsi saanee 9-vuotissyntymäpäivälahjaksi puhelimen. Tuo Fusion X1 on kyllä korkealla listalla vaihtoehdoista, vaikka toki vanhemmille hankittavan sovelluksen kuukausihinta 5,99 euroa kuulostaa aika korkealta. Toisaalta haluaisin päättää, mitä sovelluksia lapsen puhelimeen tulee, sekä estää kokonaan selaimeen pääsyn, joten ehkä se on tuon rahan arvoinen. Vai voiko noita rajoittaa muulla tavalla esim. Googlen oman lapsilukko-ominaisuuksien kautta?

The topline came in stronger than expected at NOK 606m, driven by the senior segment. The kids segment came in softer than expected driven by lower sell-in in the kids segment, while Xplora reported strong sell-out quarter, indicating pent-up demand for smartwatches. Subscription revenue came in NOK 6m below our estimates. The Adj. EBITDA came in stronger than expected at NOK 101m, driven by a higher gross profit beat. Xplora has given a breakdown of the path to one million subscription with 800k coming from Kids/youth segment (475k existing and 325k new subscribers) and 200k from the senior segment, where they expect to reach one million subscription by 2028/29. We estimate 960K subscription by the end of 2028 broken down into 736k subscribers from kids/youth segment and 224k from the senior segment. We expect cons to make positive revision on the back of record sales and strong quarterly sell-out of smartwatches.
