Admicom operates in the IT sector. The company develops cloud-based services that mainly concern administration, accounting, payroll and project management. In addition to its main business, it offers training and customer support. Its customers are small and medium-sized corporate customers, with the largest operations in construction and industry. The head office is located in Jyväskylä.

I was listening to Admicom’s “The Future of SaaS” presentation. I wonder if we might accidentally have just the right person at the helm to lead Admicom into the world of AI? I personally worked as a site engineer for a few years at a large construction firm. I had 12 different software programs that I had to use every week in my work. I got excited when I saw the example in the presentation where other Admicom programs were managed through an AI window. I would have been much more efficient if I could have managed all 12 programs through a single AI window. I don’t know how well it actually works at Admicom right now, but it will surely be possible in the future at Admicom or in some other industry. Construction operates in the physical world. We’ll see when the first construction robots with sufficiently functional AI arrive, so that they can be trusted to perform safety-critical tasks on-site. We live in interesting times.

I have been enjoying reading Rodney Brooks’ pedantically written blog, where he tracks the realization of the skeptical (or realistic) technology predictions he made years ago.                   rodneybrooks.com              Why Today’s Humanoids Won’t Learn Dexterity – Rodney Brooks                              I was surprised that the first robots were already being fashioned to look like humans as early as the 70s!  Despite those agile-looking dance propaganda videos, robots don’t hold up when moving from a flat, learned environment to rugged unpredictability. Robots on a construction site, where safety is a concern and there are hazards all over the place… I don’t know about that. For example, what happens if a robot needs to be shut down suddenly while it’s carrying something heavy? Does it drop it immediately, potentially on top of someone? Heavy robots are dangerous if they fall. That’s why the robots currently being designed are lightweight. But then again, lightweight ones can’t really carry much of anything. I could also imagine that on a construction site, there are many things done with the fingers without seeing exactly what is being done (at least when installing various bits and pieces). For robots, this is a total impossibility at the moment!  Progress progresses, but it takes time. A lot of time.

One could imagine that Admicom might also face considerable buyout pressure at these valuation levels. It’s quite absurd that the EV/EBIT (adj.) is hovering around 11 for this year. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if some party were to swallow this up. But of course, I’d rather follow this as a strongly growing independent listed company. In my opinion, the EBIT margin doesn’t need to be improved any further; instead, they should step on the gas to bolster growth. Fortunately, Admicom is very focused and hasn’t started branching out too much with its acquisitions. The foundation should be in pretty good shape now for the next growth leap.

Atte has published a new company report on Admicom  Admicom held a briefing on Thursday covering the company’s views on the impact of AI on SaaS companies and Admicom’s business. In our view, the company’s perspectives on the situation were convincing and reinforce our previous view that the threat of AI currently appears overstated, at least for Nordic ERP providers. Following the recent share price decline, Admicom’s valuation (2026e EV/EBIT 11x) has, in our view, fallen to a very attractive level. In the short term, globally declined valuation levels for SaaS companies inevitably also weigh on Admicom’s acceptable valuation level. Therefore, we reiterate our buy recommendation for the share, but revise the target price to EUR 50.0 (prev. EUR 55.0). It depends on the perspective. The company has invested quite a bit in its organization over the last few years. The question, of course, is whether this was catch-up investment or a push for future growth. If the market is stagnant and growth is not being achieved, then additional recruitment might not necessarily be a sensible allocation target. This share buyback was hardly significant enough in scale to rule out acquisitions; rather, it is more of a signal to the market. While the dividend was cut, this is a sign that management has more in its toolbox than just the dividend syringe and the M&A hammer.
