Simris Group is a biotechnology company. The company is focused on research and development of bioactive substances from cultured microalgae, for applications in nutrition, cosmeceuticals and pharmaceuticals. The company's technology also replaces unsustainable raw materials from endangered species and sensitive marine ecosystems. Simris Group was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Hammenhög.

Apple has been lagging behind in the AI race, and the iOS AI features presented long ago haven’t been rolled out on schedule. Their in-house development has clearly been struggling. Now a deal was announced stating that the next iteration of Siri will be “powered by Google Gemini”.  https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/12/apple-google-ai-siri-gemini.html Time will tell how it plays out, but this could be a win-win for both Google and Apple. Giants like Google have invested heavily in AI, and at some point, these investments need to contribute to the bottom line. Google gets a major customer and puts its AI systems into consumers’ pockets and onto their desks. Apple, on the other hand, hasn’t embarked on massive AI investments with its own data centers and language models, so they haven’t had to burn huge sums of money upfront. I see this as positive news for Apple. In my opinion, it doesn’t make sense for every consumer device company to start building their own AI infrastructure. Rent it as a service and switch providers once it becomes clear which of the big AI houses will take a dominant position. And there’s nothing stopping them from developing their own systems later once the technology is more mature and cheaper. It’s perhaps similar to how Apple used only Qualcomm modems for a long time, simply because they were superior to their own attempts. Since then, they have gradually introduced their own modem tech into their devices as it has become good enough.

Heh. I’ve finally started trimming my oversized Nvidia position and reallocating it into Apple stock, among others. Not because I think AI is a bubble, but… Follow my train of thought: To put it simply at a high level: the “AI supercycle” will last for decades, just like mobile and the internet. We have now seen the 1st Wave of the AI supercycle, manifested through LLM development and massive infrastructure investments. However, this infrastructure building is bound to be a cyclical business. In the eyes of an investor, the next focus will be… “user-centric AI,” where the winning companies generate real (daily) added value for users and succeed in building AI seamlessly into the user experience. Let’s roughly divide users into consumers and professionals. Apple (and Samsung) are the main players in this consumer-centric AI, because consumer AI is built on top of these companies’ end-user devices—phones, watches, and headphones. I don’t know what these consumer AI solutions will look like, and I don’t need to. But I believe they are being developed at full speed, and within a few years, Tim Cook will show us. “Professional AI” is the other half of the next wave. The jury is still out on its winners. Adobe, Autodesk, Microsoft, etc.—actually all professional software and hardware? The “Third Wave” will be seen later, and then perhaps today’s money-burning machines (OpenAI vs. Gemini vs. Anthropic) will emerge as winners…

Apple plans to update its Podcasts app this spring by introducing “video podcasts.” This is an effort to respond to competition from YouTube and Spotify. Users will be able to switch seamlessly between audio and video+audio, as well as download videos for offline use and utilize the “picture-in-picture” feature and dynamic video ads.
