December 9 scheduled release, marking the first near-term commercial milestone
for the console release.
- 5th Planet Games is sharing the following update with shareholders and
investors, as the company expects to benefit from this product release.
Skybound Entertainment, together with Landfall and Aggro Crab, announced this
week a partnership to release a Physical Edition of PEAK for PlayStation 5. The
popular cooperative climbing game has sold millions of digital copies to date.
In partnership with Skybound, 5th Planet Games is co-distributing the PEAK
PlayStation 5 Physical Edition, which is now available for pre-order through
retailers worldwide to release on December 9.
Landfall and Aggro Crab originally released PEAK exclusively for PC in June
2025. Since then, the game has maintained an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating
from players on Steam and earned widespread critical acclaim, including being
named "Best Multiplayer Game" at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards. Overall
expansion to consoles, including the PS5 Physical Edition, marks a major
milestone for PEAK and answers one of the player community's most frequent
requests since the game's original PC launch.
Skybound Entertainment will distribute the PEAK PS5 Physical Edition globally,
with 5th Planet Games supporting access to key European retail markets. This
includes the Nordic region through 5th Planet Games' partnership with Nordisk
Interactive A/S, Eastern Europe in partnership with Glomerk SA, and the Benelux
region in association with BIGBEN Interactive Belgium S.A.
Mark Stanger, CEO of 5th Planet Games, commented: "This is a very exciting new
project for 5th Planet Games, and we are thrilled to partner with Skybound,
Aggro Crab and fellow-Nordic company Landfall. The prior success and popularity
of the PC version of PEAK are impressive, and we believe this presents a huge
opportunity for expansion across new platforms. There is also strong demand for
a physical edition among players who prefer to own physical media, including
among both new and veteran PEAK players. We look forward to getting this into
stores and expect it to perform well over the holidays and beyond."
PEAK is a co-op climbing game in which the slightest mistake can spell your
doom. Players are Scouts who must work together, relying on friends to scale
ledges and placing ropes or climbing spikes to ease the way for those who come
after. Console editions of the game will include cross-platform gameplay,
allowing console players to climb alongside the existing Steam community.
The PEAK PS5 Physical Edition includes a physical game disc containing all major
game updates released to date, an innovative Buddy Code that can be shared with
a friend and redeemed for an additional copy of PEAK, and an exclusive printed
Scout Passport packed with fun stickers.
PEAK is a collaboration between Stockholm-based Landfall and Seattle-based Aggro
Crab, with the core development taking place in a chaotic game jam back in
February 2025. Combining each studio's skillsets and styles resulted in a game
that, appropriately, represents teamwork, friendship, creativity, and overcoming
a literal mountain.
