AcadeMedia has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Yes! Kinderopvang. The acquisition includes 22 preschools with 1,400 preschool places in the Netherlands and is in line with AcadeMedia's international growth strategy, with the aim of generating 50 percent of Group sales outside of Swedish school operation. During 2025, Yes! Kinderopvang is expected to reach a turnover of EUR 17 million and an EBITDA of EUR 1.9 million.
- The Netherlands is a prioritised market for AcadeMedia, and we are happy to strengthen our current position of 10 preschools with an additional 22 preschools. The acquisition complements our existing preschools geographically and strengthens our preschool organisation in the country, says Kristofer Hammar, Director of business development at AcadeMedia.
Yes! Kinderopvang was founded in 1990 and offers preschools in four locations on the outskirts of Rotterdam. With their 22 preschools, Yes! has a strong position in the local community where they are situated. The seller is the company's founder and owner.
As previously communicated, AcadeMedia's board has decided on new strategic targets for international growth. They represent a new phase and a focused growth effort outside of Sweden with the aim of generating 50 percent of Group sales outside of Swedish school business. The acquisition of Yes! is an important milestone to reach this goal.
Following the acquisition, AcadeMedia's operation in the Netherlands will consist of 32 preschools and 12 schools. The acquisition is in line with AcadeMedia's target to expand internationally and is expected to add synergies to the current operation. AcadeMedia's international business currently includes Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, England, and Finland and stand for approximately 30 percent of total turnover.
