Alelion Energy Systems AB: Alelion supplies batteries for automated forklift trucks.

Read the release

Alelion Energy Systems has received a strategically important order for lithium-ion batteries in the automated truck (AGV) segment. Delivery is planned for the third quarter 2021.

The customer is Jernbro Industrial Services AB, which is a market leader in industrial services in Sweden. The Jernbro Automation unit is a leading supplier of customer-specific automation solutions based on AGV concepts (Automated Guided Vehicles).

Batteries with lithium-ion technology are becoming increasingly common in the new production of AGVs. In existing fleets, switching from lead-acid batteries to modern lithium-ion technology can increase customers' production capacity.

"With Alelion's stand-alone batteries, you can easily change from lead-acid batteries to lithium-ion batteries," says Pär Knutsson, sales manager at Jernbro Automation, "and no battery change is required during production time."

Alelion's battery system for industrial trucks has a number of other customer benefits, including shorter charging times and the ability to charge fast. Also, the battery lifespan is up to three times longer and energy costs can be reduced with up to 30 percent.

Since 2006, Alelion Energy Systems has been a developer and global supplier of low-voltage battery systems in the materials handling segment. Today, Alelion's batteries operate more than 5,000 material handling forklifts around the world.

At the same time as Alelion is increasing its market presence in material handling, the company has in recent years increased its investments in more advanced high-voltage battery systems for special vehicles. The company has received a number of important orders in the segment and is now, after completed tests and certification, ready to start series production of customized battery systems for special vehicles.
