Annehem Fastigheter deepens its sustainability commitment with climate goals approved by the Science Based Targets initiative

ANNE BPress release20.08.2026 klo 09.00

Annehem Fastigheter has had its climate targets validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The approval underlines the company's long-term commitment to the climate transition and confirms that Annehems emission reduction targets are scientifically grounded and aligned with the Paris Agreement's ambition of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

The SBTi has reviewed and approved Annehem's climate targets in accordance with the organisation's criteria for small and medium-sized enterprises. This validation means that the company's emission reduction targets are deemed consistent with the transition required to achieve the global climate goals.

"We are proud that our climate goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The approval is an important confirmation that our climate work is ambitious, credible, and scientifically grounded. The climate targets give us a clear direction for how we, together with our tenants, suppliers, and other partners, will continue to reduce the climate impact of our operations and our property portfolio," says Christin Hertzberg, Head of Sustainability and Communications at Annehem Fastigheter.

Summary of Annehem's validated commitments:

  • Annehem commits to reducing emissions from its own operations and purchased energy (Scope 1 and 2) by 42 percent by 2030, using 2022 as the base year.
  • Annehem commits to measuring and gradually reducing emissions across the value chain (Scope 3).
  • Annehem commits to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 at the latest, by reducing overall emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 90 percent compared to 2022 levels.

About the Science Based Targets initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative is a global partnership between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). SBTi develops standards, tools, and guidance that enable companies worldwide to take credible, science-based climate action to limit global warming to 1.5°C and reach net zero by 2050.
