Auroora Yhtiöt Oyj acquires the circular economy pioneer Rasmix

PRESS RELEASE January 30, 2026

Auroora Yhtiöt Oyj acquires the circular economy pioneer Rasmix

Auroora Yhtiöt Oyj has acquired a majority stake in Rasmix Oy from MBP Group Holding SA. The acquisition strengthens Auroora’s Clean Water and Environmental Technology segment with circular economy solutions as a core pillar alongside clean water.

Founded in 1996, Rasmix Oy is a Finnish pioneer in the circular economy, specializing in the collection, processing, and utilization of biodegradable and oil-based materials, including used cooking oil (UCO), food industry side streams, and animal by-products. The company’s operating model is based on close collaboration with material originators, further processing of collected materials, and supplying customers with raw materials for applications such as transportation biofuels, energy solutions, technical products, and the feed industry.

Rasmix operates from its facility in Riihimäki, Finland, employs 17 people, and generated approximately EUR 5.0 million in revenue in 2025. The company has extensive collection networks and long-term partnerships with its customers.

Strengthening Auroora’s responsible growth and circular economy solutions

Rasmix operates in markets strongly supported by global megatrends, including the growth of the circular economy, increasing demand for biofuels, the reduction of fossil fuel usage, and tightening environmental regulation.

“Sustainability is at the core of Auroora’s business, and Rasmix is an excellent addition to our Clean Water and Environmental Technology segment. Rasmix’s operations actively promote the circular economy, resource efficiency, and the reduction of emissions,” says Antti Rauhala, CEO of Auroora Yhtiöt Oyj.

“The circular economy and biodegradable materials are critical to the global sustainability transition. Rasmix’s strong expertise in this field supports Auroora’s strategy as a responsible Finnish long-term owner, generating lasting value for shareholders and society. This acquisition demonstrates how business growth and sustainable development can go hand in hand,” adds Ville Voipio, Member of the Board of Directors of Auroora Yhtiöt Oyj.

Rasmix to continue its growth as part of Auroora

Following the transaction, MBP will continue as a strategic partner and minority shareholder in Rasmix. The company’s operational management will also remain minority shareholders, and Samuli Strömberg will continue as the Managing Director. Rasmix will continue to operate as an independent company under its own name and strategy as part of the Auroora Group.

“Auroora’s long-term ownership model and strong support provide our customers with stability, predictability, and confidence in long-term collaboration. At the same time, they provide us with an excellent platform to further develop our operations and accelerate growth. The circular economy market is evolving rapidly, and demand for sustainable solutions continues to grow. In Auroora’s ownership, we can continue to make focused investments in circular economy solutions, product development, and business expansion. We are also pleased that MBP continues as a partner and minority shareholder with its strong international networks,” says Samuli Strömberg, Managing Director of Rasmix Oy.
