Bergen Carbon Solutions announces today that Jan B. Sagmo has resigned from his
position as CEO, due to health-related issues. Co-founder and COO Finn
Blydt-Svendsen will step into the position as interim CEO with immediate effect.
The Board will initiate the hiring process for a permanent CEO immediately.
- Together with co-founder Finn Blydt-Svendsen, Jan has turned a brilliant
thesis into a listed company with a ground-breaking technology. The Board is
thankful for Jan's dedication and value creation over the six years since he
founded the company together with Finn in 2016. We are also confident that Finn
possesses the necessary insights and experience to secure further progress for
BCS together with a competent management team. Therefore, we do not expect
project delays going forward, says Dag Skansen, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Bergen Carbon Solutions.
Sagmo owns 2.280.000 shares in Bergen Carbon Solutions. The shares are subject
to a lock-up expiring in December 2022.
- I have recently been facing some health issues, and the responsibilities of
being CEO of Bergen Carbon Solutions are not compatible with my current health
condition. Stepping down as CEO is the best decision for me, the company, the
employees, our shareholders. I am confident that my good friend and co-founder
Finn and the management team will continue Bergen Carbon Solutions' ambitious
journey with full strength, says Jan B. Sagmo.
