As a result of these efforts, in 2021 the Group was again able to demonstrate good profitability at the same time as showing healthy growth. This is an important indicator of strength, especially because of the many regulatory challenges it faced during the year, particularly in the markets of Western Europe. Revenues increased by four percent in 2021, resulting in a record year. Operating profit increased by six percent to SEK 1,194 million, which means that profit was on a par with the record earnings posted in 2018," says Pontus Lindwall, CEO and President of Betsson AB.Betsson's Annual and Sustainability Report for 2021 presents the Company's vision to provide the best customer experience in the gaming industry and important steps taken to implement its growth strategy encompassing growth in existing markets, expansion into new markets, development of the Business-to-Business offering and acquisitions that can complement the offering with new geographical markets and products. The Annual Report also provides an overview of Betsson's financial performance and operations, corporate governance, and work for sustainable gaming regimes.Betsson's sustainability work, an integral part of the Company's business strategy, consists of five focus areas: Responsible Gaming, Business Compliance, Employee Impact, Social Impact and Climate Impact. In 2021, Betsson developed a climate roadmap that sets out the main priorities for the Group's efforts to reach its science-based targets. These targets were also approved in 2021 by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
