Byhmgard AB (”Byhmgard”) today announces that it has entered into discussions with Solarigo Systems Oy (”Solarigo”) with the intention of acquiring the rights to the 50 MW ”Hitura” energy storage project in Finland (the ”Project”), in accordance with the Right of First Refusal agreement that the company announced on 11 May 2026.

The Project is a standalone 50 MW energy storage system (BESS) with a symmetric grid connection, located at Hitura, Finland. The Project is being developed by Solarigo. An acquisition of the rights to the Project would be made through a project company wholly owned by Byhmgard.

Energy storage plays a central role in the Nordic power system as the share of weather-dependent generation grows and demand for flexibility and ancillary services increases. An acquisition of the Project would be a step in Byhmgard's strategy of building a portfolio of energy storage assets in the Baltics and Finland.

”The Project is well-developed in a price area with strong demand for flexibility, and it fits well with our strategy. We look forward to being able to conclude our discussions with Solarigo,” says Christian Byhmer, CEO of Byhmgard.
Discussions between the parties are ongoing and no binding agreements regarding the acquisition have yet been entered into. There can be no assurance that the discussions will result in a completed transaction, and the terms of any transaction may differ from the above. Byhmgard does not intend to comment further on the discussions while they are ongoing, and will publish further information in accordance with applicable rules if and when so required.
