Cityvarasto Acquires a Facility in Klaukkala – New Self-Storage Hotel Planned Near the Town Centre
Cityvarasto Plc continues its expansion in the municipalities surrounding the Helsinki metropolitan area and has acquired a property complex comprising three owned plots at Klaukkalantie 72, 01800 Klaukkala. The acquisition includes plots totaling approximately 3,177 m² and a building completed in 1990 with a gross floor area of approximately 2,490 m².
The property was purchased from the Municipality of Nurmijärvi. Cityvarasto aims to open a modern self-storage hotel at the site in early 2027.
"Klaukkala is a growing area where demand for flexible storage solutions continues to increase. The property's location close to the town centre makes it particularly attractive to us. This will also be Cityvarasto’s first self-storage hotel in Klaukkala, which we are very excited about," says Ville Stenroos, CEO of Cityvarasto Plc.
Cityvarasto already has a presence in Klaukkala through its subsidiary, as PakuOvelle.com also operates in the area.
"Klaukkala is already a familiar market for us through PakuOvelle.com, so it is great to now establish a Cityvarasto self-storage hotel in the area as well. We see significant potential here and believe our services will complement the local offering very well," Stenroos continues.
Cityvarasto is developing its network of locations particularly in areas where population growth and changing housing needs are increasing demand for additional storage space. The self-storage hotel in Klaukkala supports the company’s strategy of bringing modern storage services closer to its customers.
"Our goal is to create a modern self-storage hotel where renting a storage unit can be completed entirely online and customers can access their storage units whenever it suits them best," says Stenroos.
"Klaukkala is a special place for me. I attended elementary school there and spent a large part of my youth in the area. Although I live elsewhere today, it feels great to bring Cityvarasto’s services to Klaukkala. It is rewarding to see that we can now contribute to the future development of Klaukkala also as a company," says Stenroos.
The property will be developed in phases, and in addition to the self-storage hotel, the building will continue to accommodate other business activities in the future.
