Denmark has no forests, so there Novo (and a couple of other pharmaceutical companies) are responsible for GDP growth. In Finland, there’s only Orion and some minor players like e.g. Revenio. We’ll have to wait a long time for the pharmaceutical sector here to start dominating GDP volume. Of course, small biotech companies like Faron could also contribute to the growth of national wealth in some distant future

A hint for decision-makers from Kauppalehti: In Denmark, the success of pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk is visible at the level of the entire national economy. A significant portion of the country’s GDP growth in recent years has been driven by the pharmaceutical industry. A similar healthcare miracle, visible at the level of the entire economy, would also be possible in Finland, says Jaakko Linna, CEO of Novo Nordisk Finland. “In my opinion, it would require us to be able to make a joint decision here as well, placing the healthcare sector in a position where we expect growth from it. It would have been nice to hear about this meeting myself, though it probably wasn’t very long.

Bargain hunters in action? Lottery potential? A lot of people putting in a few euros? Large investors already have a full position? Most importantly: does it matter? A high-risk target in a small market, with a few relatively large long-term owners due to whom a hostile takeover is not really worthwhile. And generally speaking, if I recall correctly, in the autumn of 2022, large investors did not really acquire Wärtsilä, for example, at a price of just over six euros, nor during the following year when the price fluctuated above and below ten euros. I am not convinced of the profitability of following (others’ investments), whether it concerns small or large investors. It might work for traders, though I don’t understand much about the intricacies of that activity. Among my own investments, those thought through by myself have been the most successful, and those followed (from others) the worst. Think for yourself, or something like that.

To me, the progress now looks consistent. The ASH data, as a whole, was promising and supports moving forward. This has always been a very high-risk investment. And for me, the current scarce information is a good sign. It is true that without a partner, this remains a high-risk investment. I personally believe that Phase 3 will be entered with a partner, but the content of the agreement might be a disappointment for many. If you have believed in this before, I would say to keep your cool. To me, things are progressing according to the communicated plan, but naturally, no one can guarantee anything. Top 30 ownership:  31.12.2024 - 63,827,292 pcs - 64.20%  16.12.2025 - 64,047,584 pcs - 54.64% So, they haven’t decreased overall, but there are significantly more small investors. Of course, it would be nice to see more institutions as well, but this type of risk immediately rules out quite a few.

Timing is crucial when investing in medical research. This year, results matured and a better understanding of the mechanism of action was gained. Small investors have increased their holdings at the right time. Large investors have not reduced theirs. New shares have been available for purchase from HCM (via the stock exchange), thanks for that. I also bought a bit myself this morning.
