F-Secure is a technology company. The company specializes in the area of cyber security. The range mainly includes various programs for security and privacy products, which are also used to manage risks online. Customers are found in a number of sectors and the largest operations are conducted in the Nordic market. The company was created via a spin-off from WithSecure.

I chatted with Ate for a moment about F-Secure. Are the investments made now finally starting to materialize?  ”F-Secure’s investments in its Tier1 strategy finally seem to be bearing fruit, as the company secured a significant agreement with telecom giant Verizon. Right, my bad, I also confused this early December announcement about a new partnership as one that would also have follow-up information. In retrospect, it was just a press release and apparently there’s no reason to expect any signing messages related to it later on. Verizon’s contract-related disclosure has been made in three parts to comply with stock exchange disclosure guidelines:   In the US market, we had competing players who knew we had won the deal in question - where contract negotiations were, of course, still ongoing - and about which they communicated to external parties in November. This triggered our obligation to make a stock exchange release (20.11.2025) in which we announced that we were negotiating a new significant contract.   Verizon published news in early March on a website aimed at its Digital Secure customers about a significant renewal of the service, built together with F-Secure. We had no prior knowledge of this announcement. In this context, it was evident that information about our upcoming contract specifically with Verizon was publicly available, so we were obligated to publish a stock exchange release on the matter on 10.3.2026. The sales contract had not yet been signed at that time. In that release, we stated that we would confirm once the actual sales contract was signed.   We confirmed the signing of the contract yesterday.   The releases in stages 1) and 2) were not the way we would have wanted to communicate about the deal unless we had been obligated to do so. Ideal communication, no. In accordance with stock exchange/Financial Supervisory Authority practices, yes.

I’m completely lost with these F-Secure announcements, but was it the case that the initially released leading communication services contract is still awaiting signature? And if so, shouldn’t they be signing it soon so Q2 can start? These are good things, but somehow I get the feeling that the company has taken a “let’s communicate about all poses, as it’s otherwise challenging” approach.
