Frøya, Norway, November 22, 2021
Frøy ASA ("Frøy") is pleased to announce that it has today taken delivery of the
newbuild MS Gåsø Høvding from Sefine Shipyard in Turkey.
Oddleif Wigdahl, head of wellboat in Frøy said "Delivery of Gåsø Høvding is an
important milestone for Frøy. Gåsø Høvding is the worldŽs largest wellboat with
7.500 m3 capacity and it is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that will
set a new standard for safe, sustainable, and efficient wellboat operations."
Significant investments have been made to reduce the vesselŽs environmental
footprint. The vessel can operate 100% on electricity when shore power is
available, and it has a large battery package built to reduce emissions when
operating at sea. The vessel is equipped with pressure sorting enabling removal
of all types of cleaning fish, freshwater treatment with reuse, osmose plant for
production of fresh water, 12-line hydrolysers and an advanced and automated
hygiene system.
MS Gåsø Høvding is expected to arrive in Norway second week of December, and it
will directly commence a long-term time charter to a large Norwegian salmon
farmer.
