Wes Anderson’s latest film finally hits the silver screen and Goodbye Kansas Studios was one of the VFX vendors.

The premiere of acclaimed director Wes Anderson’s much anticipated film ‘The French Dispatch’ has been delayed ever since the onset of the pandemic. But now it’s finally time for audiences to once again visit the unique and quirky world of the acclaimed American auteur, who has previously given us films like ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’.

Every frame in a Wes Anderson film is a work of art, carefully planned and designed. The shots are often constructed out of several different visual elements and sources that are meticulously assembled to get the desired look and design. Goodbye Kansas Studios in London and Stockholm helped create that unique visual world in ‘The French Dispatch’ creating a number of VFX shots.

“It was an honor to work on the film. Wes Anderson’s visual style is truly unique and it was both a challenge and an adventure to be part of creating that amazing world”, says Joel Lindman, VFX Supervisor at Goodbye Kansas Studios.

‘The French Dispatch’ is written, produced and directed by Wes Anderson, from a story conceived by Roman Coppola, Hugo Guiness and Jason Schwarzmann. The film has been described as ‘a love letter to journalists’ and the stellar cast include names like Tilda Swinton, Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Frances McDormand, Léa Seydoux, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Mathieu Amalric, Willem Dafoe, Elisabeth Moss, Edward Norton and Anjelica Huston.

“We were thrilled to be involved with this project and the team really enjoyed playing their part in creating many wonderfully conceived and crafted shots. We, like many others, are so excited over the film’s premiere today,” says James Prosser, Managing Director at Goodbye Kansas UK.

The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on July 12, 2021 and will reach cinemas October 22nd 2021.
