Inwido expands its premium offering in Sweden via Småland-based acquisition

Inwido

Inwido acquires RM Snickerier, a leader in Sweden in the premium segment of windows and doors with modern features in a traditional style - "allmoge". The company, with approx. 40 employees, has a turnover of approx. 70 MSEK with a profitability higher than Inwido's average profit margin. With the acquisition, Inwido is broadening its portfolio in Sweden in general and within the "allmoge" segment specifically.

"RM Snickerier has an impressive history of profitable growth for nearly 40 years with an average annual growth exceeding 9 percent and with further potential to expand the business.  The company has a modern and well-invested window factory in Vimmerby and delivers both wood and wood/aluminium products of top quality", says Fredrik Meuller, Inwido's President and CEO.

RM Snickerier, founded in 1986 by current CEO Mikael Carlsson, is a well-reputed company with a strong brand for custom-made windows and doors, for example for properties where the original character should be preserved while at the same time getting the benefits of modern windows and doors. Sales are primarily through construction companies and building material retailers with the strongest geographical coverage in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Skåne. The acquisition complements Inwido's current business units in Sweden with good opportunities for synergies in both purchasing and sales.

"RM Snickerier fits very well as part of Inwido with a similar background and culture, as well as a decentralized business model that enables continued development of our unique customer offering. The fact that Inwido's acquisition also includes our property in Vimmerby is a clear signal of their long-term vision and desire to preserve the unique core values that my employees and I have jointly built up over nearly 4 decades," says Mikael Carlsson, founder and CEO of RM Snickerier.

Inwido is purchasing 85 percent of the shares with an option to acquire the remaining 15 percent by 2030. Mikael Carlsson will remain as CEO and minority owner. The operations will become an independent business unit within the business area Scandinavia. The takeover is planned for early October 2025.
