Among smaller operators, Lidl’s share increased by 0.1% and Tokmanni’s decreased by 0.1%. S Group’s share rose by 0.2%, while K Group’s decreased by the same 0.2%. However, as we know, K’s market share turned to growth in the last quarter.

Here are Arttu’s comments on Kesko’s February.  Kesko’s sales increased by 5% in February. Organic revenue increased by three percent. Growth was driven by all divisions. Development in January-February has been positive relative to our forecasts, but March, during which geopolitical tensions have risen significantly, has yet to be reported. For this reason, we will only review our forecasts after the reporting of March sales figures. Good overview. Personally, I see Kesko as an internationalization story. Of course, it is interesting and important that the market share battle at home is going well. But if internationalization succeeds, there is potential for almost anything here. In my opinion, Kesko is at a fairly good stage; after initially banging its head against the wall in Sweden with the K-rauta concept, it should now have the necessary humility and desire to learn and leverage the experiences gained from those failures. A lot now depends on the management.

The new logistics centre will be located in Hyvinkää. Kesko acquired a 42-hectare property in the area in July 2021. During the first phase, the new logistics centre will be over 80,000 square metres in size, most of it reserved for Onninen. It will replace Onninen's current logistics centre, also located in Hyvinkää, and be the workplace of some 400-500 logistics professionals. The current centre houses some 400 employees."During its years as part of Kesko, Onninen has grown significantly. We expect the long-term outlook for technical wholesale to be positive: green transition, better energy-efficiency and the electrification of society make technical wholesale an increasingly important supplier of products and solutions.
