Railcare has signed a framework agreement with Martin Bencher (Scandinavia) AB, a part of the global transport and logistics giant Maersk, regarding specialised rail transport within Sweden. Under the agreement, Railcare will be a preferred partner for rail transport operations that require specialist expertise, planning, and resources.
The agreement does not include any volume guarantees; instead, assignments will be conducted as needed, with the first transport scheduled for July. These assignments pertain to specialised freight transport for goods that cannot be accommodated within standard transport arrangements due to their size, weight, or design. For example, this may involve large and bulky industrial components such as transformers, machine parts, or other heavy equipment.
"The decision of a globally recognised transport company to partner with Railcare for specialised transport operations within Sweden is a significant acknowledgement of our capabilities. We have extensive experience and expertise in specialised rail transport, largely due to our flexible approach and dedicated staff. We are therefore delighted to have earned Maersk's trust,” says Mattias Remahl, CEO of Railcare.
Railcare has a strong presence in specialised rail transport and offers a complete range of solutions, including planning, permit management, execution, and coordination with other logistics players. The company’s own fleet of vehicles, along with its technical expertise and experience in handling complex rail projects, establishes a solid foundation for safe and efficient transport, even in challenging conditions.
Maersk is an international transport and logistics company with a primary focus on maritime and container transport, but with a growing range of bespoke logistics solutions.
“We view this agreement as a long-term partnership, and it is in line with Railcare’s strategy to continue developing its offering in specialised transport,” concludes Mattias Remahl.
