MAGNUS HINDSTRÖM HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF HONKARAKENNE
The Board of Directors of Honkarakenne Oyj has appointed Magnus Hindström (M.Sc. (Tech.)) as the new President and CEO of the company. He will assume his position on 3 August 2026.
Hindström previously worked at Metsä Wood as Vice President, Kerto LVL Sales, where he was responsible for Kerto LVL sales across several international markets as well as in Finland. He brings to Honkarakenne strong experience in leading company growth and transformation in both domestic and international markets.
Honkarakenne has a strong position in log house construction and a clear foundation for growth. I see significant potential especially in international business. Going forward, we will focus even more strongly on execution, strengthening our market position, and fully leveraging the strengths of the company’s brand, design, and production together with our personnel,” says Magnus Hindström in connection with his appointment.
Chairman of the Board Timo Kohtamäki is pleased to welcome Magnus to the position of President and CEO.
“Magnus’s strong experience and proven track record in building international business are extremely valuable in accelerating the growth of Honkarakenne’s exports.”
At the same time, we would like to thank the company’s long-serving President and CEO Marko Saarelainen for his excellent work over more than ten years. Under his leadership, Honkarakenne has developed into a leading international operator, and we are grateful that he will continue as CEO of Honkarakenne’s Japanese subsidiary. With Marko’s strong professional expertise, there is significant potential to grow operations in Japan and the Asia region in the coming years.
“I began my role as President and CEO of Honkarakenne in 2015 at a time that was extremely challenging for the company. Together with a skilled and committed team who truly believed in what they were doing, we were able to turn Honkarakenne into an international pioneer in responsible wood construction. I am pleased to return to my role as CEO of our Japanese subsidiary, Honka Japan Inc., after a break of more than ten years. The potential of the Japanese and broader Asian markets—especially in the current geopolitical situation—offers Honka an excellent opportunity to grow its exports. I warmly welcome Magnus to the Honka family,” says Marko Saarelainen.
Marko Saarelainen will continue as President and CEO of Honkarakenne Plc until the new President and CEO, Magnus Hindström, assumes his position on 3 August 2026.
