For 15 years, Awareness day has been an important part of NCC's commitment to ensure safe and secure worksites. Tomorrow, the first Wednesday of September, at 9:00 CET. the entire organization, both own employees and subcontractors, will pause work to reflect and focus on health and safety. The objective is to build a corporate culture that fosters a healthy work environment, minimizes the risk of accidents and prevents serious incidents.

This year's theme "I never compromise on safety, I work safely or not at all" focuses on understanding and managing risk behaviors that can lead to unsafe and unhealthy work environments.

"It is important that we work together with our customers and subcontractors and constantly strive to achieve risk-free behaviors and safe work environments. For example, we can see that our early involvement as contractors in the construction process has a very positive impact on worksite safety," says Lars-Gunnar Larsson, Head of Health and Safety at NCC.

NCC's health and safety efforts aim to eliminate serious incidents and fatal accidents at NCC's worksites. Since 2018, NCC has measured the number of accidents with more than four days' absence and this figure has fallen by 70 percent since measurements began. Since 2020, NCC has also measured serious incidents and the most serious incidents have decreased by almost 40 percent.

"Thanks to our systematic safety initiatives and greater cooperation with our customers and subcontractors, we have seen a steady improvement in accident rates year by year. This is incredibly gratifying," says Lars-Gunnar Larsson.
