Netum provides data protection officer services to Duodecim

Netum provides data protection officer services to Duodecim

The Finnish Medical Society Duodecim and its subsidiary Duodecim Publishing Company Ltd have selected Netum to provide the company’s statutory Data Protection Officer services. The agreement is valid until further notice.

The rapid pace of technological and regulatory change, together with digitalisation and globalisation, places increasing data protection obligations on organisations. When Duodecim’s in-house Data Protection Officer transitioned to a new position, the organisation chose to use the opportunity to outsource the function to an external specialist.

The external data protection officer performs all the same tasks as the internal data protection officer. They master data protection regulations and related processes, monitor and guide data protection implementation, and support compliance with GDPR requirements.

“Demand for outsourced Data Protection Officers has increased significantly as technology and regulation continue to evolve at a pace. By outsourcing the role, organisations gain straightforward access to deep, specialised expertise. We are proud to be recognised as a trusted service provider in this field”, says Repe Harmanen, CEO of Netum Group. ”Our experienced data protection experts help companies comply with data protection regulations, regardless of the industry. They also provide support from planning to practical implementation, as well as in facing and solving case-specific challenges, if necessary”, Harmanen continues.

The Finnish Medical Society Duodecim is Finland’s largest scientific association. It exists to develop doctors' professional skills and clinical practice through continuing education, publications, and research grants. The products and services produced by the association's subsidiary, Duodecim Publishing Company Ltd, support the daily work and professional development of medical and other healthcare professionals. Research-based information on health and disease is also available to the public through books and online services.
