Nidhogg Resources Holding AB: Nidhogg Resources: Positive environmental assessment confirms that crushing and recycling operations in Vintjärn are proceeding in the permit process

Nidhogg Resources

Nidhogg Resources Holding AB (publ) announces that the Authority Board for Building and Environment in Falun Municipality has decided that the activities regarding crushing, sorting and recycling of residual materials on the property Vintjärn 6:49 are not considered to have a significant environmental impact. The decision means that the project will move on to the next step in the permit process.

The planned operations relate to the recycling of historically stored material (tailings) from the former iron ore mining in Vintjärn. The municipality's assessment is based, among other things, on analyses that show low levels of substances harmful to the environment & health in the material. Furthermore, the activities take place within an industrial area and that no natural or cultural values are adversely affected. Falun municipality also highlights that the operations are planned with clear protection and control measures, such as dust control, water sampling, noise-limiting location of crushing plants and a spill management plan. Overall, the risk of impact on human health and the environment is assessed as low.

"This is an important step in our work to recycle and return historic mining material for beneficial purposes. The decision confirms that our operations are adapted to the conditions of the site and meet the environmental requirements set for the operations," says Niclas Biörnstad, CEO of Nidhogg Resources Holding AB.

The project aims to recycle and utilise materials available since mining ended in 1978, contributing to resource efficiency and environmental benefits through the reuse of existing mining material.

Operations can begin when the municipality has established an order for precautionary measures. This constitutes the next step in the permit process and is expected to be decided during the first quarter of 2026.
