Qualisys Releases Prisma Pose - Markerless Motion Capture for Biomechanics Labs

QSYSPress release02.11.2026 klo 15.00

Qualisys today released Prisma Pose, the company’s own markerless engine, in Qualisys Track Manager (QTM), the motion capture software its customers have relied on for more than 20 years. Prisma Pose is sold as an add-on license for customers using Qualisys video camera systems. It is now available for purchase from Qualisys and its distributors.

Developed in-house, Prisma Pose lets labs capture human movement without placing markers on participants. It gives biomechanics laboratories a practical and accessible solution, with no need for an additional software vendor.

Demand for markerless capture is growing as labs look to assess populations where markers are impractical, with less setup and a simpler workflow. Live demonstrations at international conferences and regional events, and a webinar prior to launch, drew strong interest. The response also points to opportunities beyond research labs, including physiotherapy and private practice.

Added Value for an Established Customer Base
As a one-time add-on license for labs running QTM worldwide, Prisma Pose adds markereless capabilities to existing systems. It works only with Qualisys video cameras, which also supports camera system sales. Updates come through the Qualisys Support and Update Agreement, giving customers one more reason to renew.

“Markerless is one of the directions our market is moving in, and one of several growth areas for Qualisys. With Prisma Pose, biomechanics labs can go markerless inside the system they already use, which will simplify their workday and open up new research opportunities," says Ingemar Pettersson, CEO of Qualisys.

A Complete Markerless Portfolio
Different customers, different business models. Prisma Pose is a one-time add-on license to QTM, while OnTraq, already available to elite sport teams, is subscription-based. The long-standing Theia partnership serves laboratories with more extensive requirements. Together they give Qualisys a differentiated product portfolio across the full markerless spectrum – one of the fastest-growing segments in human movement research.
