Railcare signs new framework agreement with Trafikverket

RAILPress release07.08.2026 klo 08.30

Railcare has signed a new framework agreement with Trafikverket regarding contract works in Sweden. The framework agreement is valid for three years from 1 February 2027, with an option to extend for a further 1+1 years. As with previous framework agreements with Trafikverket, call-offs will be made on an ongoing basis.

The new agreement creates favourable conditions for continued efficient and flexible railway maintenance using Railcare’s vacuum-powered machines, and is also adapted to the new electric and battery-powered machines.

“It is very positive that we have signed a new agreement with Trafikverket, which is our largest customer within the Construction business area. The agreement strengthens our position in efficient railway maintenance and enables us to continue providing innovative solutions that minimise disruption to traffic,” says Mattias Remahl, CEO at Railcare.

Railcare’s vacuum-powered machines enable gentle and efficient maintenance, particularly in environments where traditional methods are difficult to use. The technology is well suited to preparatory work ahead of major track replacements, where careful handling of ballast and surrounding infrastructure is crucial to successful implementation.

The framework agreement covers the performance of preparatory work ahead of maintenance measures, as well as maintenance included in Trafikverket’s plans. This includes, amongst other things, ballast replacement at switches and on bridges, cable management, test pits, and operations where precision and accessibility are crucial.

“Our vacuum technology gives us a unique ability to work efficiently even in complex environments, whilst enabling us to carry out important preparatory work ahead of major maintenance projects. This contributes to a more robust and accessible railway system,” concludes Mattias Remahl.
