Looks like Marimekko’s annual general meeting might have to be held again due to a procedural error. A friend of mine just tried to get into the meeting at Finlandia Hall slightly late. The Finlandia Hall staff prevented entry on the grounds that a Marimekko representative had come by 15 minutes after the start time to say that no one else should be let in. Quite the “people’s stock,” this one. Small shareholders are being mistreated in violation of the Companies Act. AI says: “The Companies Act does not allow a shareholder to be excluded from a meeting based on being late. Being late does not negate the statutory right to participate.
