Finnish Metal Icons Apocalyptica Contribute Opening Credits Track “Upperhand”
Today, Remedy Entertainment announced that CONTROL Resonant, the highly anticipated sequel to the studio’s critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning CONTROL, is now available worldwide. Players take on the role of Dylan Faden as he battles a paranatural crisis engulfing a reality-warped Manhattan, unleashing his powers and mastering the different forms of his shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant, to face dangerous enemies and monumental bosses. CONTROL Resonant is available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S arriving October 15, 2026.

CONTROL Resonant is developed and published by Remedy Entertainment. Annapurna Pictures co-financed and co-produced the game as part of a strategic partnership with Remedy Entertainment.

Finnish cello-metal band icons Apocalyptica have contributed a brand-new song, “Upperhand”, to CONTROL Resonant. The track accompanies the game’s opening credits and introduces players to Dylan Faden’s journey into the unknown. Upperhand is available today on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
"The first version of “Upperhand” was written as intro music for the game's opening sequence. It reflects the uneasy emotions of the main character in transition to the unknown. I wanted to expand it into a full song with lyrics, and we were so lucky to get Katrine from Kalandra with her unique voice to carry this where it was supposed to go,” said Eicca Toppinen, the founder of Apocalyptica. “This song combines multiple special qualities of Apocalyptica, and getting those qualities to serve the world of CONTROL Resonant was a challenging but exciting and rewarding journey. I truly hope Remedy and Apocalyptica fans will find this as special as we do.”
iam8bit is once again teaming up with Remedy to celebrate the launch of CONTROL Resonant with a new merchandise collection. Inspired by the game, the collection includes Corrupted Metro apparel, a Billboard Bumper Stickers Pack, an Atlantis Café Espresso Cup Set, three Federal Bureau of Control propaganda posters, and an FBC Magnet Set. The posters are 1:1 recreations of their in-game counterparts, printed on 16.5" x 23.3" poster stock.
