Sprint Bioscience has been selected to present new data from its VRK1 program in a poster presentation at the 38th EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics (ENA 2026), taking place in Barcelona, Spain, on November 18-20, 2026.
The new findings further strengthen the scientific rationale for targeting Vaccinia-Related Kinase 1 (VRK1) as a potential treatment strategy for genetically defined cancers. The data build on results previously reported by Sprint Bioscience and provide additional support for VRK1 as a promising oncology target.
"We are pleased to present data from our VRK1 program at ENA 2026. The acceptance of the abstract highlights the quality of the science behind the program and provides an important opportunity to engage with the global oncology community," said Johan Emilsson, CEO of Sprint Bioscience.
The VRK1 program is focused on developing selective small-molecule inhibitors for genetically defined cancers, including glioblastoma, where low VRK2 expression creates a potential synthetic lethality opportunity.
The poster, "Selective VRK1 inhibition reduces glioblastoma growth via synthetic lethality in vitro and in vivo", will be presented by Madhurendra Singh, PhD, Associate Principal Scientist at Sprint Bioscience. More information about the conference can be found on the web: https://event.eortc.org/ena2026/.
The ENA2026 symposium is recognized as a leading international forum for cancer drug development and translational research and is jointly organized by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), the U. S. National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
