Tokmanni Group is a variety discount retailer in the Nordics. The group has stores in Finland, Sweden and Denmark under the brand names Tokmanni, Dollarstore, Big Dollar, Click Shoes and Miny. In addition, Tokmanni has online stores. Tokmanni's headquarter and logistics centres are located in Mäntsälä, Finland. Dollarstore is headquartered in Kista, Stockholm with a central warehouse in Örebro. The group own a procurement company located in Shanghai together with a Norwegian discount store chain Europris.

If the stock, depending on the negative news, looks cheap or overpriced to the market, would the negative news indicate to the market a failure of the entire expansion into Sweden? Is the sluggish start to growth just something investors don’t have time to wait for? And a quote from @JuhaR, but it’s not meant to grill you directly.  The speculated fluctuation range of the stock price is just tantalizing for a defensive industry from a bygone era, which is not, however, an either/or pharmaceutical company. Of course, if Tokmanni is the first casualty in the discount store elimination game, the previous statement will age poorly.

Three years ago, Tokmanni issued a profit warning on Friday, December 16. Would it be overly optimistic to think that if a profit warning isn’t heard next week, the risk of it will start to diminish? Without a profit warning, the stock looks affordable, but even a slight negative surprise could certainly make the price drop significantly.

Could this imply that Goldman Sachs Group has aggressively accumulated a significant amount of short-sold shares (or even most of them), and that GS naturally believes in buying when the price is low. Has every Q4 been blamed on bad weather since the IPO? Lately, yes. What department store or shop generally wouldn’t sell products from different seasons, e.g., Christmas/winter season products, at a steep discount after the season? That’s how retail works.

Tokmanni always warns when Q4 is snowless in Southern Finland and the arrival of winter “is delayed.” That’s what will happen this time too. And again in early spring, we’ll get to sell Asian winter junk with big discounts to people who chase after deals. Perhaps everything is different this time?
