I wonder what kind of Trojan horse Tomra just led through the gates  Interesting timing to put out a stock exchange release just a couple of days before the financial statement. Surely this could have been announced on Friday along with the results? In short, it’s about job cuts in the Recycling business unit (approx. 175 jobs), aiming for 16 million euro annual savings and bringing the EBITA margin back above the 20% level by 2027. There is definitely a need for this, as they have fallen quite short of targets and expectations regarding recycling, considering the kind of picture that was painted for the segment at the last CMD a couple of years ago!

Tomra Systems ASA (OB:TOM) is a Norwegian technology company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, best known for its reverse vending machines. The company was founded in 1972, and its business is currently divided into three segments: Collection, Recycling, and Food. 1. Collection  Tomra’s best-known and historically most significant business area. It covers reverse vending machines (RVMs) and related software and services. Collection generates stable cash flow and is a market leader in many countries, especially in Europe and North America.  2. Recycling  The Recycling segment focuses on material sorting solutions (optical identification, sensor technology), specifically for plastic, metal, and waste streams.  3. Food  The Food business provides sorting and quality control solutions for producers, packers, and processors (in the form of grading, sorting, peeling, and analysis technologies). <p>In response to challenging market developments over the past year, with reduced customer investments within the recycling industry, TOMRA Recycling has today informed its staff that it will initiate a cost reduction program. The initiative is part of the division's plan to return its profitability back to an EBITA margin of +20%, as announced at TOMRA's third quarter presentation in 2025.</p><p>The program targets gross savings of EUR 16 million in annual costs. Measures include rightsizing the organization and optimizing the global footprint through approximately 175 FTE reductions. The full benefit of the cost reductions is expected in 2027. The program is estimated to incur one-off costs of approximately EUR 15 million.</p><p>Further details will be presented in connection with TOMRA's fourth quarter result presentation on Friday, 13 February 2026.</p><p>Asker, 11 February 2026</p><div></div>
