(UPM, Helsinki, September 1, 2026 at 10:00 EEST) - On August 31, 2026, the Extraordinary General Meeting of UPM-Kymmene Corporation resolved on the partial demerger of UPM by which all assets and liabilities of UPM relating to the UPM Plywood business area, or mainly serving the UPM Plywood business area, are transferred to WISA Group Plc ("WISA"), a company to be established in the demerger. 

The planned completion date of the demerger is October 31, 2026. Trading in the shares of WISA Group Plc on Nasdaq Helsinki Ltd is expected to begin on November 2, 2026, or as soon as reasonably possible thereafter.

Investors, analysts and bankers are invited to the Capital Markets Day of future WISA Group taking place at UPM Head Office in Helsinki on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The event will be hosted by Tapio Korpeinen, Chair of the Board of Directors designate of WISA; Tuija Suur-Hamari, President and CEO designate of WISA; and Lasse von Hertzen, who will act as interim Chief Financial Officer of WISA.

The event is an excellent opportunity to discuss WISA's path towards an independent, publicly listed company. The incoming management will present WISA's strategy, growth opportunities, business operations and financial targets.
