Oslobygg has awarded Veidekke the contract to expand and refurbish Bryn School
in the Teisen area of Oslo. The contract is a design and build contract valued
at NOK 533 million excluding VAT.
"We are very pleased that our tender was ranked the best and would like to thank
Oslobygg for its trust. In partnership with Oslobygg, we will carry out a wide
range of works, from demolition and the refurbishment of three heritage-listed
buildings to the construction of a new teaching facility and a sports building,"
says Thomas Julusmoen, District Manager at Veidekke Bygg Oslo.
As project owner, Oslobygg has set ambitious environmental targets: "At Bryn
School, we are placing a strong emphasis on reuse and environmentally friendly
materials. As with all projects undertaken by the City of Oslo, this project
will also be delivered with an emission-free construction site," says Kristine
Wangen, Project Manager at Oslobygg.
The two new buildings will comprise a total of 7,000 square metres. The
buildings to be refurbished - the school's original main building and two villas
- comprise a total of 4,000 square metres. Veidekke's scope of work also
includes the further development and upgrading of the school's outdoor areas.
Construction works will commence after the summer break, with planned completion
in time for the start of the school year in autumn 2029.
The contract will be included in Veidekke's order backlog for the second quarter
of 2026.
