Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB: Media Evolution brings together innovation actors in Wihlborgs' "Werket" - a new hub in Dockan

Wihlborgs Fastigheter

Wihlborgs has signed an agreement with Media Evolution, which in autumn 2026 will expand its operations with 3,600 square metres at "Werket" (Skrovet 6) in Malmö. Here, Media Evolution will create a new hub for entrepreneurship, sustainable growth and futures-oriented work together with Malmö's incubator Minc and the game development community Game Habitat.

The partnership between Media Evolution and Wihlborgs goes back thirteen years, and since 2012 Media Evolution has been a pioneer in defining what coworking can be in the property Ubåten 2, located just across the street. Now, Media Evolution is expanding its operations and, together with Minc and Game Habitat, establishing a new shared meeting place.

The establishment marks the next chapter for the innovation district "Malmö Generate District" - and for Dockan, an area long shaped by Saab and Kockums. Recently, Wihlborgs also announced that Cloetta will relocate its largest Scandinavian office to the same property, further strengthening the area's position as an attractive workplace environment.

The property was built in 2003 for Telia, which leased the entire building until 2014, when Saab gradually took over. As Saab now vacates the premises at year-end, the opportunity arises to open up and transform the building into a modern and welcoming environment tailored to its new tenants. With its location on Isbergs gata, right by the drawbridge, and its renewed open profile, Werket will become a new gateway to Dockan.

Werket will feature office space, meeting rooms, coworking areas, workshop and lecture rooms in various sizes, a green courtyard for gatherings and relaxation, a restaurant, and a staffed reception area designed to strengthen the community within the building and serve as a natural point of contact for companies and visitors.

"The present and the future are complex - multifaceted and rapidly changing. Together with our community of professionals across many industries, we address uncertainties and work collectively to steer the future in desired directions. This close collaboration and the place we are creating will generate synergies and broadened perspectives for development and innovation. With platforms like Minc, Game Habitat and others, it is time for the full effect of what we have been building for many years", says Magnus Thure, CEO of Media Evolution.

"Werket is designed as a place where people can meet and new innovations can emerge. It carries a fascinating history where many ideas have already been realised, and now a new era with new opportunities begins. The entire neighbourhood will be energised by an increased flow of people and activities. We are genuinely delighted to take this next step together with Media Evolution and strengthen Dockan as an attractive and future-oriented location for companies and entrepreneurs," says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
