Faron is a global, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, focused on tackling cancers via novel immunotherapies. It’s not quite clear from the EU’s announcement whether the intention is to provide funding directly to biotechs (and if so, is it low-cost debt financing or some other financing model)? Or are the billions being directed to European venture capital funds specializing in the biotech sector, which then pick promising biotechs for their portfolios. Regardless, it’s clear that Faron’s clinical evidence is of such a standard that, by all logic, funding should be obtainable from this pot. If the EU lends a helping hand, then the long-awaited partnership deal will likely be delayed until the stage where Bex has marketing authorization and the drug needs to be marketed and manufactured in large quantities.

Faron’s 4th largest shareholder is an entity called The European Innovation Council Equity Fund (EIC). Somehow Europe and the EU always let us down, but could there be real support for an important cause this time? Funding for small companies to the point where large European BPs can smoothly take over from there.

Well now. Would it be too much speculation if Faron had slowed down the closing of the deal a bit in pursuit of these subsidies? The way the FDA & US administration are treating Novo Nordisk now (blocking the acquisition and most recently the cat hair allegations related to a few drug batches) has hopefully also prompted the EU to act. Additionally, Trump’s threatened drug tariffs and forced price reductions (e.g., Pfizer) are clear signs that something needs to be done in Europe. If Faron is truly among the top 10 most promising biotechs in Europe (mentioned earlier in the thread), this means that support & funding are coming, if they’ve had the sense to apply for it. I’m left wondering when and how (at what stage) that could be announced to the stock exchange – if realized, a great pilot project whose impact would be, to put it mildly, “staggering”. GoFaronGO

It would be crazy not to explore the possibilities. Even if negotiations are currently far along, Faron’s strategy is to continue with solid tumor trials by expanding later, and all regulatory and project support is welcome.
