Remedy Entertainment is a game developer. Its operations are primarily focused on the development of action games, with a particular focus on 3D technology. Examples of games that the company has developed include several different versions of Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Control. Remedy also develops its own game engine and tooling technology that powers many of its games. The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

The release of Control Resonant towards the end of Q2 will, in my own estimation, be quite challenging to achieve. Of course, the start of marketing at TGA could in a way indicate this, providing a solid six-month marketing campaign. With this Q2 release, on the other hand, the assumed sales from 2026 are quite conservative. By a rough calculation, the expectations for Control Resonant’s 2026 sales would be roughly 1.2 - 1.5M units. This is quite close to AW2’s sales pace, which was 1.3M units in just over 3 months from release.

Of course, delays are always possible in the industry, but it takes a pretty strong view to believe that the game wouldn’t be out next year. Games rarely get delayed if such finished gameplay is shown for the game and the release window is “next year”. They aren’t making an open-world game here where predictability is low and final polishing can take up to a year.

I somewhat believe that during Midsummer, people will still be playing other Remedy games than Resonantia. If the release isn’t pushed to the end of the year, there’s a risk of an unfinished product, and Remedy’s current situation certainly couldn’t withstand that.

Control’s 2026 release window is a Trumpian half-truth   in the category of Iraq’s nuclear weapons - if it’s said, it is or maybe it isn’t, facts probably don’t matter anymore. TO THE MOON! After lying to private investors for 9 months and secretly wasting 3 million of your money on an assembly demo, the information might hold true for a moment, but when the release date comes, oops, it’s already 2027, because of the company’s internal quality requirements and/or something, it had to be postponed a bit and all that. Fanatics also believe that the moon is cheese. With this money, we apparently got such a positive response, where analysts who have been wrong for years are once again buying everything they are fed. One would think that every player has already seen these moves, but no. However, I must say that that demo would have won the democompo. Control2 is not a 2026 game.

That followers/members tracking was handy, thanks! At this stage, so soon after the announcement, wishlists are significantly higher than the traditional followers x10 formula. Resonant is currently the 99th most wishlisted game on Steam.  Most wishlisted games on SteamDB Below are the wishlists for the 100th-ranked game (V.A Proxy) based on Gamalytic.   Link to V.A Proxy’s statistics On the other hand, the game ranked 98th (Bloody Hell Hotel) has 355k wishlists according to Gamalytic, so the SteamDB wishlist ranking and Gamalytic’s wishlist estimates don’t fully correlate. Gamalytic will likely have Resonant’s statistics within a day or two, so we’ll get some kind of rough estimate. At a minimum, the game should already have several hundred thousand wishlists based on this information. Below are also Resetera’s poll for the best announcements and an updated IGN poll, now with over x10 more responses (n >10k) since my last update. Looks good.  Resetera poll n= 650   IGN poll, n = 12,500 (requires US location selection and some scrolling on the main page) Although Resonant’s release will likely be quite close to GTA VI (19.11.2026), it’s good to remember that GTA will not be released on PC at launch. Resonant therefore has a completely free lane to rampage on PC, which is why monitoring Steam statistics is particularly important. If the game stays on schedule and at least somewhat lives up to the hype generated by its announcement, then next year’s 2026 EBIT/EBITDA and thus the earnings multiples will see a very significant change compared to previous expectations, where 2026 was more or less an interim year.

And with this game too, there will surely be sales (and probably offers) for e.g. Control 1. For me, at least, it made me think, ‘oh, maybe I should play that next since I haven’t played it yet.’ It was the same when AW2 came out, so I had to get AW Remastered, even though I can’t even play the second one on PS4

Remedy's Q3 report did not yet provide any information on preliminary sales figures for Alan Wake 2. However, the game's excellent reception by critics and players alike creates a strong foundation for good sales success and also strengthens Remedy's long-term prospects in many ways.
