This significant issuance strengthens Valmet’s long-term debt structure and is an important step in diversifying the company’s funding sources and expanding its debt investor base. The loan is divided into 11 tranches, comprising both fixed and floating-rate portions, and its maturity profile is diversified across three, five, seven, and ten years. The average maturity is almost six years. At the end of the third quarter of 2025, Valmet’s net gearing ratio was 38 percent, which is well below its target level of less than 50 percent. BNP Paribas, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, and Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale (Helaba) acted as joint lead arrangers for the Schuldschein issuance.

Valmet Oyj:n lehdistötiedote 8.12.2025 klo 9.00 Valmet on saanut päätökseen 10. marraskuuta 2025                             Valmet has concluded the change negotiations initiated on November 10, 2025 concerning temporary layoffs in the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit, which belongs to the Packaging Materials and Paper business line, and in the Global Supply Chain unit in Finland. The change negotiations concerned a plan to adjust the capacity of the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and the Global Supply Chain unit and to improve cost efficiency. As a result of the change negotiations, Valmet may implement temporary layoffs if necessary during the first half of 2026. Possible layoffs concern personnel of the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and personnel of the Jyväskylä machine shop and foundry within the Global Supply Chain’s P&P Manufacturing unit. In total, the negotiations concerned over 950 employees, covering all employee groups in these units in Finland, most of whom work in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila (Vantaa), and Raisio. Valmet has approximately 19,000 employees globally, and in Finland, the company employs approximately 6,000 people.
