Thanks Rauli! It’s great that you’re bringing up questions from here on the forum. Tiina’s answer was very logical; if the partners are primarily responsible for marketing, it’s difficult to invest. On the other hand, strategically, that loose-franchise partner model is a bit of a double-edged sword. Especially in the early stages, this is a capital-light model for seeking growth, but in the long run, Marimekko might want to have more influence over the investments themselves.

This was asked, and perhaps the clearest part of the answer was that in Asia, partners are mainly responsible for marketing, so Marimekko cannot push marketing funds there on its own. It wasn’t my intention to comment on the Inderes post if the previous one was linked to it. ”S-Bank portfolio manager Nyberg, however, believes that Marimekko has good building blocks for growth in Asia. ”Even now, retail and wholesale sales in the Asia-Pacific region were quite okay. We are just waiting for the consumer to start feeling better,” Nyberg said.”

Here are Rauli’s quick comments on Marimekko’s Q4  Marimekko grew by only 1% in Q4, which meant the company’s adj. operating profit remained at EUR 8.8 million, falling below the level of the comparison period and clearly below our forecast. As expected, the company provides guidance for this year with the same wording as before: revenue will grow and the adj. operating profit margin is expected to be 16-19%. A small increase in the dividend is proposed, even though the full-year result remained at the level of the comparison period. However, following the subdued Q4, there is slight downward pressure on the forecasts. In the report, we are particularly focused on the guidance for 2026, the outlook for the Asian market, and the dividend proposal.
